Anything else?
I have attended this unit for the last 12 years, receiving regular IV treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. I can't praise the staff highly enough, they are gentle, considerate, courteous, empathic, supportive and they do all of this with a massive patient load and dwindling resources. I have watched the disinvestment of the hospital trust in this unit over the last few years, at every cutback and every diminution of resources, the staff compensate as much as they possibly can by working harder. I would like to alert the hospital trust to thae fact that granting them runner up in an excellence competition will not prevent staff burnout caused by consistent under resourcing.
