As a Gateshead resident, I have no experience of Northumberland NHS trust. I work in Ashington and dislocated my hip this morning (a common occurrence as I have a connective tissue disorder) and attended A and E to ensure I had relocated it without causing any damage. I was treated respectfully at reception and the receptionist immediately asked if I was able to sit. I said yes but with discomfort and was immediately taken to a private room with a bed so as not to make me sit. I was given a gown and asked if I needed help to change and a nurse brought me painkillers as I had left mine in my locker at work. 20 minutes later and I was in X-ray, with friendly radiographers who were interested in my rare condition and asked me to spell out the name for them to research later, in case I or anyone else needed support in future. A very positive A and E experience and the friendliest, most non-judgemental staff I have ever come across. Thank you.

Dear Dreadlockdawnie, Great name ! Thanks so much for your lovely note detailing the highly positive experience you had of our emergency care services at Wansbeck. I am delighted that you received all the care you needed in a timely way - I imagine the pain of a dislocated hip is horrible. It was however especially pleasing to hear that the excellent service was provided, as we would expect, by warm and friendly staff who wanted to do all they could to support you and keep you as comfortable as possible.
