Saw the out of our Doc within 15 mins of phoning NHS Direct 111. Excellent service but did then have to travel to Lister as no on call surgical team at QE11 Sat evening. Good job it wasn't 1hr later as A1 blocked due to an accident! (Need to list Out Patients in your lists of departments)

Whilst grateful for the feedback, we do not manage or have responsibility for the out-of-ours GP service - but we'll make sure it is passed on to them. The reason, by the way, that there is no on-call surgical team at the QEII as nearly two years ago all of the Trust's emergency surgery was brought together at the Lister. Whilst for some people that may require a longer journey, the latest data shows that the result of making that change is considerably better survival rates for those undergoing emergency surgery.
