"Contacting departments"

About: St Albans City Hospital

Anything else?

I have spent all morning trying to make contact with the opthamology department to try and change an appointment without success. I have been cut off several times/fobbed off many times by various people saying its not their department (despite being transferred by the previous department) and further denials that I even have an initial appointment in the first place that needs changeing. Nobody but nobody seems able to answer the phone and or deal with my enquiry. Whilst I am sure (?) that the actual medical care is first class-the administration there is a total disaster-get a grip somebody-this is appalling. I will probably have to drive there and find a human being to talk to and a pay a rip off £4 ca parking charge for the priviledge.

Thank you for your adding your comment to our NHS Choices page. We’re sorry to hear of your frustrating time trying to contact someone in the Ophthalmology department. Depending on which consultant you are currently booked to see, please contact their medical secretary through the details listed at http://www.westhertshospitals.nhs.uk/about/stalbans_wards_departments.asp If this is unsuccessful, please go through our hospital switchboard on 01727 866122, who will be more than happy to help.
