"I spent 2 months in the maternity ..."

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

(as the patient),

What I liked

I spent 2 months in the maternity unit prior to giving birth as i had placenta previa. The staff were excellent, and cared for me around the clock. on the whole i had no complaints.

What could be improved

i think the midwives were overworked, and the agency nurses had a bad attitude sometimes. also the breastfeeding councillors were very pushy and intrusive.

Thank you for your kind comments, which have been passed on to our staff in the maternity unit. We have worked hard to recruit midwives to vacancies that arise, thus reducing the need to use agency staff - which is better for everyone. We are sorry that you found your experience of our breast feeding councillors a poor one – we have passed on your concerns, which the team will use to reflect on the service they provide to new mothers.
