(as the patient),

I had reason to use the 111 helpline at the weekend and had no problem getting through whatsoever. The call handler took me through a series of questions which were related to my issue and at the end of the questions she escalated the call to speak to a nurse practitioner.

He was not available at that time and I was informed I would be called back shortly. I waited less that five minutes for my call back and was issued with appropriate advice and care instructions related to my reason for calling.

I was treated with dignity and respect throughout the speedy process and it meant one less person 'clogging' up the local A&E department or Timberhill 'walk-in-centre. Thank you 111
