My husband attended today for his second operation. His left eye had a cataract & a new lens was provided in 2009. His right eye required a replacement lens this year & he was seen at York Eye Clinic, then put onto a short waiting list. His second operation was performed by the same surgeon. He was pleased with his reception at the Day Surgery ward. Pre-op he met with the surgeon to discuss the type of lens required. He needed a lens which would provide intermediate/reading vision. He listened to my husbands request, agreed that the Out Patient assessment had been correct & that the right prescription lens had been recommended. The operation was done quickly & carefully. The surgeon accompanied by a student colleague & was teaching as the short op progressed. My husband is delighted with the outcome, only 4 hours post-op his vision is vastly improved & it will improve further over the next few weeks as it settles. How nice it is to give a recommendation for an excellent surgeon & good care & treatment by the day case team in this day of issues & complaints with the NHS. Thank you to all concerned.
