"A wasted journey"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

I was supposed to be seeing someone at the Diabetic clinic in the Brocklehurst building this morning. I have been trying unsuccessfully to get my blood count down for a while now and really need to speak to someone about my medication. GP isn't much help. I walked from the city centre to the Brocklehurst building and arrived five minutes early. The receptionist told me the consultant had just called in sick and they had been trying to contact me. There were no missed calls on my mobile. What sort of consultant calls in five minutes before he is due to see his first patient? The receptionist insisted they had tried to call me but didn't know who had. My walk back to the town finished the job of soaking my shoes through. It isn't the walk or the rain I object to - but the fact that they expect me to believe what obviously isn't true. I now have another two weeks to wait to try to get my meds sorted.
