I have been receiving treatment for a ruptured ligament and damage to the other lateral ligaments of my ankle. I ended up needing surgery as I continued to have problems with walking after a period of extensive physiotherapy. I am really grateful for the high standard of care I received. In particular I am thankful that the consultant explained everything to me clearly, has always reassured me and certainly did not rush to "get me under the knife" with surgery. They are in my opinion and excellent orthopaedic surgeon and also compassionate and holistic in their approach to patients. Whilst in hospital I received great care in the recovery room when I came round from anaesthetic and also on the day case ward where I did have to stay overnight.
