"Great Hospital"

About: City Hospital (Birmingham)

Anything else?

I am a regular patient at the hospital's eye hospital - BMEC. As with most hospitals, yes, wait times can be quite high sometimes, but the level of care you get in return more than makes up for that. I've yet to meet a rude member of staff, and I have been a patient here for over 7 years. Maybe I'm just lucky lol! The doctors and surgeons are all very approachable, a delight to talk to, and they're brilliant at their jobs. My only issue would be that a lot of the equipment seems to be quite old, but they work well enough so no complaints there. I've moved out for University, but I still keep all my appointments at this hospital - I've yet to be given a reason to go elsewhere. The only suggestion I could offer is to the NHS in general. You guys could save a substantial amount of money by ditching Microsoft Windows. That money can be used for equipment, patient care - anywhere else it's needed. Just my two cents.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts, especially about how pleased you have been with your treatment at the Birmingham & Midland Eye Centre. All of our staff are committed to upholding our nine customer care promises and I am pleased to hear that this is most definitely the case in the eye hospital. It is also reassuring to know that you continue to see our consultants despite having moved out of the area to attend University. I will make sure I pass your comments on to the staff in the BMEC. Best wishes, Toby Lewis, Chief Executive
