"Waiting for surgery"

About: Southern General Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

Went for a pre-assessment on the late July 2012 and I was told would have the surgery within 6 to 8 weeks from that date. I am still waiting for it, nearly one full year my G.P & myself have been trying to find out why i have not had the surgery done yet. As far as my G.P knows i am fit for surgery, both of us are getting sent to different departments.

I am on a lot of medication for the pain and have a scar about 9 inches long. This scar for ever bleeding i had to go to the a&e about this because of the pain and bleeding. All they do is clean it and send me home. I was supposed to get the surgery at the Southern General at Glasgow do not know who else that can help me.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide your feedback.

I was concerned by what appears to be a delay and a lack of information, and would be pleased to look into this for you if you were able to provide some details that we can take forward for you. You can do so by emailing complaints@ggc.scot.nhs.uk and we will look into this for you as an enquiry.

Alternatively you could ask your GP to check with the department you were referred to if that is easier to do.

Once again please thank you for using the Patient Opinion feedback system. Please get in touch.

Paul
