Recently I had surgey at the Day Surgery Unit in Llandough Hospital, Cardiff. I had a large sebaceous cyst removed from my shoulder under a General Anasthetic. It was a small and simple operation but I have never had a general anasthetic before so I was a bit apprehensive.
The whole experience was very straightforward and all of the staff I encountered were friendly. I was given plenty of information about what was happening and treated with respect.
I am expecially grateful to the nurse (Karen) who arranged it for me to be able to wear my own knickers, as the standard issue paper ones didn't fit (Who would they fit! ! ? ? ). It's only a small thing but when your dignity is almost completely compromised, the small things count,
Thanks to every one at the Day Surgery Unit.
