"Acute couldn't care less ward"

About: Cheltenham General Hospital

Anything else?

Admitted to hospital with a rare condition, which I explained, but they decided I was a mental patient & having a psychotic episode rather than being delirious from dehydration, a symtpton of my condition. I had to drink from the tap in the bathroom to quench my thirst, as no jug of water was forthcoming despite the fact they had a note of my condition & my own medication. The care of the poor elderly patients on the ward was disgusting, they were unable to get out of bed & there cries for help we're ignored, even after I went to the nurses station to point out the lady opposite had been calling & ringing her buzzer - they were apparently busy, whereas I had heard their conversations, holidays & nights out!!! I could go on, needless to say I have told my husband that no matter what I must never be taken there again, absolutely appalled, as was my GP, who confirmed I was no more mental than he was!!!
