"Treated as an individual for the first time"

Having had numerous bad experiences with other diabetes specialists, being diabetic for 25 years, I was delighted and amazed by my most recent meeting with a specialist at the University Hospital of Wales.

For the first time I was treated as an individual, and not just another patient/case. The doctor was incredibly understanding, patient and helpful, asking me to consider the psychological issues I have with my illness, rather than just the physical.

For once, I left the clinic motivated and inspired to take better care of myself and actually look forward to our next consultation.
