"Things have changed for the better"

About: Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust / Inpatient mental health care

Posted by Closer730 (as the patient),

4 years ago I was admitted to Ridge Lee Hospital almost 10 years to the date I had previously been admitted.

Things have changed for the better- staff and other patients were much less homophobic and my long term partner was made to feel welcome and was involved in all decisions about my care.

I also received good after care from the home treatment team in terms of picking up my life again after a 6 month stay in hospital.

One final comment, never overlook the impact occupational therapists have on the ward in terms of structure and distraction.

Thank you for taking the time to give this feedback. We are continuing to work with service user volunteers and staff to improve the quality of service at Ridge Lea. I have forwarded your comments to both the team at Ridge Lea and the Home Treatment Team, who are both appreciative of your comments.
