in mid-March I was taken by ambulance to RAH as my hernia was extremely sore.
During my time in casualty one of the surgeons Erin came in and told me that she would try to get me in for an operation as soon as possible. She was true to her word as three days later one of the medical secretaries got in touch to say that I would get the operation a week later. Again her level of kindness was outstanding.
Throughout my time in hospital the level of care I received was of a very high level from every member of staff that I was in contact with but some were on a different level. A massive thanks to Derek and Kim who were the ambulance crew, Elaine the medical secretary, Erin the surgeon, Doctor Smith and the anaesthetist Simon who explained everything fully and attempted to put me at ease with his jokes. I do not think that Kevin Bridges has anything to worry about.
Finally Jennifer the nurse in the ward where I was taken after the recovery room was first class and even tied my laces for me. I can honestly say the NHS is in safe hands with the staff that I came into contact with.
Thanks to everyone.
